How Our Office Evolved

The Iowa Office of Consumer Affairs was established in 1995 and staffed by the Consumer Resource and Outreach Project, Inc. (CROP). In July 2005, an independent contractor was retained to perform the functions of the Office. Today, the Office serves as an advocate for Iowans to identify services, navigate bureaucracy, and find a voice in the establishment of mental health policy. We support adults and children with mental illness to enhance opportunities that can impact your productivity, recovery, and overall quality of life.
